If you run a growing business, you already know your visuals matter. But how much can brand photography actually do for you? The short answer: a lot more than you think.
To show you what’s possible, I’m pulling back the curtain on three very different brand shoots I photographed in Vancouver. Each had a distinct personality and business model—but all walked away with a strategic library of custom images that now work hard across their websites, social media, emails, and more.
Let’s take a look.
1. Caffe Delish: Building a Brand Experience in a New Space
Caffe Delish is more than a bakery—it’s a gluten-free haven for Vancouverites who want delicious coffee and baked goods they can trust. Jenna, the owner, started with a wildly popular gluten-free bakery brand, Delish Gluten Free, and recently expanded into a sit-down café.
The challenge? Her brand was evolving. She needed content that reflected her new space, her growing offerings, and the heart behind her story—all while educating new customers about what made her business special.
Our shoot focused on:
- Lifestyle portraits of Jenna in her new space (warm, welcoming, real)
- Product photos of the baked goods and drinks (mouthwatering and clean)
- Behind-the-scenes images of her prepping, baking, and interacting with customers
- Details of the café design, seating, and signage
With this visual refresh, Jenna was able to launch her new café with confidence, giving people a clear reason to visit and share.

2. Kizzy’s Macarons: Elevating a Small-Batch Sweet Brand
Kizzy runs a boutique macaron business based out of a charming bakery studio in Vancouver. Her macarons are colourful, delicate, and full of personality—just like her brand.
She came to me looking for brand images that could help her show up more consistently and professionally online without losing the handmade feel that made her business special.
We created:
- Bright, modern product photography with clean backdrops
- Environmental portraits of Kizzy working in her bakery
- Flatlays and prop-styled shots for seasonal and promotional use
- Portraits of Kizzy holding and packaging her macarons
Kizzy now has a rotating set of fresh visuals she can use across platforms to promote, sell, and celebrate her work without constantly scrambling for content.

3. The Barley Merchant: Capturing a BC Restaurant Experience
The Barley Merchant is a Fraser Valley restaurant and taproom that exclusively pours BC craft beer—and puts just as much care into their food as their taps. Community-focused and proudly local, their team wanted visuals that showed not just what they serve, but how they serve.
Their goals were different from the others: they needed images to promote seasonal menu changes, new beer features, private event rentals, and vendor partnerships.
What we captured:
- Dynamic food and drink photos, styled for social and web
- Lifestyle images of staff interacting with customers
- Ambience and interior shots during golden hour
- Portraits of the owner + head chef behind the scenes\
Now, instead of reusing phone photos, they have a full library of professional images that showcase the story, quality, and heart behind their space.

One Session. Dozens of Uses.
Whether you’re a food-based business, a creative brand, or a hospitality company, a strategic brand shoot can give you:
- Visuals for your entire marketing ecosystem
- Content that builds trust and consistency
- Photography that reflects the quality of what you offer
And the best part? It doesn’t have to be complicated. All of these shoots took place over 2–3 hours with planning support, shot list strategy, and location guidance built in.
